Cam Timing

Postby CAMB01 » Sun Feb 13, 2005 7:04 pm

I'm putting some Bluetop cams into my 4AGZE, What i want to is should i time them to the standard settings or if anybody has any specs where i could time them, as i have a pair of Vernier Adjustable Cam gears.
Any info would be appreciated.

Put them in on the factory settings & turn the motor slowly over by hand toi make 100% sure they are correct & aren't gonna hit. Then put the car on a dyno & play with the cam timing, you'll probably find the inlet will stay in much the same position & you'll only need to vary the exhaust a degree or two, but best to put it on a dyno to do it.
