The teins rattled my pulsar to bits, but the shocks never made any sound

My mate has teins in his S14, fairly noisey over bumps and stuff, slight hissing, odd creak, etc.

Is it bad if theyre excessivailly noisy? I cant tell whether the teins are noisy or the rest of the suspension...

most coilovers are always going to be noisier than factory set-ups due to the simple fact that spring rates are usually a lot firmer and linear rate whereas factory springs usually have some form of progressive rate, also a serious coilover usually has little in the way of rubber isolation in it so you have a much higher level of NVH transmission through shock and spring and then through into car body. In a standard setup most top plates have a high portion of rubber in them likewise the spring sits in a rubber isolater top and bottom all of which is usually redundant in a set of coilovers
