Penzoil Fully Synthetic 5W50: Opinions?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

Thoughts? Comments?

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

In my experience Penzoil is shit! We use it at work but I would not oil my door hinges with it.
I rate Castrol oils but everyone has there prefered oil brand. 8)

I've used the pennzoil semi syn 10w30 for the last two years. Seems fine to me, only uses ~500ml between 5000km oil and filter changes.

Ive never had any problems with it. We use heaps of their Racing 50 mineral oil as it's one of a few that doesn't break down when used with Methanol. Never had problems with either providing you use either the GT or Racing series oil.

We've also been using Penrite & to be honest I thought castrol was the shiz to run as it normally solves all problems even those mobil1 can't fix, but the Penrite synthetic is IMO better still, seems to run smoother, quieter & use less fuel as compared to the various other products I have tried in my own road car with castrol previosuly topping the list.

well i have herd that castrol make good oil but breaks down fast and that penzoil is one of the best makes of oil much better than castrol. i noticed when i use to use casrtol my car would get noisie again after 2000km sort of thing. now i use valvoline and it seem great ahy. ive herd its best not to change types of oil all the time pick one and stick with it.

Well I did an oil change in my 3SGE the other day and put in some of this Pennzoil 5W50 Fully Synthetic and I have to say....

I'm impressed.

It DOES cost considerably more than other stuff, but I really like it.
The last oil I was using was Valvoline 10W40.
Used a can of STP Engine Flush and put the 5W50 in. Cranked it over and let it wear in.

Oh, then I put the dip stick back in when I wondered what the hell that stuff was spraying a bit. I ALWAYS FRIGGEN FORGET THAT!!!

But yea, engine runs noticably smoother, and I don't mean in a placebo way. Only thing is that when it's cold, theres almost a bit of stick at just a touch under 2000rpm when taking off.... Almost like a champaign cork, struggles to get out, then pop! Off she goes. This is usually under load btw, as my car takes off from the driveway facing up
