Is my airbag faulty on an ae111 if:
When I start the car, the airbag light comes on for about four seconds and then turns off??
or
Is this some sort of self-check?

All air bag system should have the light come on when you start it up, its a self check of the airbag electrical system and sensors etc. If it doesn't come on and you have airbags then you dont get a warrent either

interesting but boring fact,
Did you know that some cars have up to ten airbags in them?
And bonnet mounted airbags have been in development? ( for when you hit pedestrians)

Yea, and the rest. Cant put an exact number on it, but makes like BMW and Merc are loading up on them nowadays.
The the Lexus RX300 (toyota harrier) has 9 airbags... for the driver.
