Pump GAS???

Postby driftah » Mon Feb 28, 2005 7:40 pm

What petroll is the best? and what service stations have the best quality for price?

What octane petroll would be best for a 1984 FXGT?

For price search for yourself on www.pricewatch.co.nz, it tells you where the cheapest fuel is according to your area.

Best pump gas in AKL is obviously going to be something like BP Ultimate 98.

I'd agree with that. I used to use 96, now use 98. Can definatly notice a difference. Not in power, but the ammount of stress the engine can take.
Found that if you pull too much say, going up a hill at low RPM in about 4th, I'd get a touch of pinking. On the same hill with 98, same speed and gear, no more pinking.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Mobil's Synergy 8000 seems to be consistent than Bp Ultimate from what I've seen with regards to how long it's been in the tank since last delivery & from one batch to the next batch or one station to another. Powerwise there isn't a hell of a lot of difference between them if you get a good batch of both for comparison.
