KE70 Sedan Rear Bumpstops

Postby pervert » Mon Mar 07, 2005 7:59 am

With the new springs I have in my KE70, it has no travel in the back now. I have got lower springs for the back to even it out with the front, and it has come down a good height, and coupled with wagon rear shocks, the springs sit perfectly captive. The problem I now have is that the distance between the bumpstop and the plate, is about 1.5cm when sitting on flat ground with no driver or passengers. As you can guess it makes for a rather bouncy ride.

I know it is illegal to modify bumpstops without a cert, so I don't need reminded of that fact. But what I am wondering is what other KE70 owners/ex owners did to fix this problem. Did you trim a notch off the bumpstop? Or remove them completely? Any other options?

Are there any issues that will arise with trimmed bumpstops?

you could trim off one notch.. the bumpstops are normally split into 2 sections.

Yes, these ones have three notches I guess you could say.

Taking off one would not cause any major problems then?
