but 17x7 +lowering looks like the way to go i want to try keep the car as moveable as possible and as usable as possible (eg getting over driveways and bumps stuff like that)
distance between the ground and car wont be much of an issue... the main will be the distance between the rims and parts of the vehicle.. you'll actually gain ground clearance with a set of 18's as opposed to 17's...
other thing you have to take into account is the rolling diameter of a set of 18's and tyres as opposed to the factory specs. starts to become a warrant issue when the rim size increases that much over factory...
i wouldnt do it for the sheer cost and hassle when you can fit a set of 17's that look good and are relativly practical (as practical as 17's and low profile tyres can be on the road) for about 1/2 the cost
