turbo manifolds

Postby shaggz » Wed Mar 09, 2005 2:47 pm

hey question on behalf of a mate he has a turbo starlet with the standard ct9 on it he has purchased a td04 the question he has is obviosly the td04 aint gonna bolt straight on and a full new manifold system is a bit out of his price at the moment, would it be possible if he cut the actual plate off the manifold from where he got the turbo and cut off the factory starlet one weld on the one for the td04 makn sure there was no leaks then bolt on the td04 how well would this work i know not as good as a customer manifold but yeah?????????
drive it till it breaks, then upgrade it

You can get an adaptor plate made, shouldnt be too expensive and works fine.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

stock manifold is very restrictive, at least port it out if you are going to use it with a bigger turbo. you'l see what i mean soon as you take it off and look inside.
adaptor plate will work, but will make it hard to get the turbo in a good place, something will be compromised...

Or u could pm action dan on here as he does really good manifolds for a really cheap price , wood be a much better alternative cause if u goin to go the distance of a bigger turbo than woodnt it make more sense to spend that little extra and do a proper good manifold that wont be so restrictive ?
