Ok, I'm after a power band from 4-8k rpm and aiming for max power of 300hp at the flywheel, but more importantly as much torque as possible over the whole power band.

I want there to be a decent amount of boost (10psi+) from 4k, going up to whatever amount is required for the 300hp, then being held at that level until 8k, dropping off only if detonation problems occur.

As said above currently it's 5psi to and 11psi from 4800rpm until wherever rev cut is (don't really have much time to watch tacho at this stage).

Great, thanks for your help.

Why i'm rebuilding it: The block that came with the car had a few bits cracked off  and as a result there are only 2 bolts and 1 engine mount holding the engine in place and I'm more than slightly worried about the engine snapping off and me having a big crash when engine leaves engine bay.

So I have a new block (7 rib with oil squirters) into which I am putting the 8.9:1 pistons out of the broken block, and reassembling with upgraded bearings and bolts + everything balanced. I'm trying to make a reliable as possible engine, well for it's output at least.

yes but $3000 is a wee bit too much for me :P, especially considering I have everything except bearings and bolts.

suppose i could use that clutch when i decide to bolt a truck turbo on, make 70psi boost and pull 700hp out of the 4age for the 2 seconds it takes to turn to a liquid blob of metal :D
