is there any device can stop the REV cut?

New ecu? If the mods don't warrent a new ecu, then ask yourself why you want to up the revs? Its passed its peak power at 8000 grand anyway, just in time to upshift into the meaty part of the powerband.

excuse me while i ask why you want to do that...

the reason i ask is that they are there to save the engine from blowing up from too much revs, unless your engine is worked to rev higher than factory, one of the reasons its there is incase u miss a gear and your engine winds right out and then BANG...

i wish the celica (1990 manual sr) could get to 8000rpm - it gets to the start of the redline (6200) and cuts out - its such bullshit! i know it can go faster if it could just get to at least 7200rpm!

I am pretty sure that they cannot be removed in toyota's just like toyota's can't be chipped.

max you wanna rev a standard silvertop is 9k an a blacktop 8500

i know raiesing the revlimit itself seems like the eazyest option but....
you have to remeber the extra stress your putting on the engine is doubling with every 500 rpm your moving it

if your motor has not been built to take this additional stress there is a goodd chance that it will fail
also elevated rpm levels can make your cluch malfunction in the way it makes the diaframe release with centrivical force
something else to think on

just a bit of interesting bit of info for you to think about
rev's are the most stressful thing you can do to a rod.. in a n/a
if you really wanna rev it harder i hope you will consider a rod upgrade to something that will accept that higher stress reliably

Especially in a blacktop. Mmmm.... toothpicks. Gotta remember all the other things than need to be replaced to rev much past 8 too such as valve springs (anyone know what the 20V springs are good for?)

thanks really much for suggestion,it's a black top engine and we already have aftermarket value spring when fitted the cam on it,we just want to rev a bit high to see what happen seen the engine still want to rev a little bit higher for more power.Also thanks for suggestion for the rob changing!

I know the best idea is changing aftermarket ECU to make it rev higher,but buying a secondhand ECU such as TRD one is quite expensive,.....and it seen only can rev to 8900rpm...we did have a SARD ecu on it before.

Anyway back to the topic,do gizzmo make anything to remove the rev cut or anyone know anything can do on it?????

sorry hare but toyota factory ecu's are fixed in there revlimits
you would need to look toward a aftermarket ecu as toyota uses a soft ignition and a hard fuel cut

i can tell you from, experiance that the blacktop will want to rev to 9 and there was uewans 10k 20v as well that pulled all the way to the redline and then some
the stock 20v top end will coap with 10k though the blacktop more so as it has the stiffer valve springs


so i think that answers your question
without a replacement ecu you wont rev any higher than stock

there is/was a blitz ecu(to suit blacktop 4age) on trademe which had no speed cut and a higher rpm limit on it(dunno much about it) could be worth a look maybe?

thanks man,we did use SARD one before,it did improve but it can't remove the fuel cut,I except BLITZ one is the same improvement as SARD one,...also for that price I can get a TRD or TOM's one anytime with courier post to nz in three days.....
