ignition wiring

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Mon Mar 14, 2005 7:55 pm

im putting a 4age into a ke35...
i got the 4age coil/ignitor, and theres the green plug which goes onto the engine loom, thats all sweet but im wondering can run the original wires that went to the old coil straight to the terminals on the new 4age coil? or do i have to wire it up differently through the ECU or something?

and if i can wire it straight to the coil, should i have power to the ignition after i do that?

Yeap, you can run them straight to the coil. IIRC there are two on the positive side that need to go onto the coil and make sure you remove the ballast resistor. Also keep the wires from the 4AG loom connected to it aswell. Thats how I did mine and its given me no trouble for the 12 months its been running.

do you mean the ballast resistor on the 4age coil? theres nothing like that on the coil i got. just the coil and ignitor and thats it.

Nah just the res from the old loom. The wires that go from the igniter to the coil, leave them on there and connect the ones from the old loom to the coil aswell.(to the terminals on the coil itself)
