Hilux door lock and whining noise

Postby TruenoBoy » Thu Mar 17, 2005 8:20 pm

Hey I have a problem with the front left door lock as it wont unlock with the central locking. Seems to lock alright and will some times very occasionaly unlock with central locking. Works fine when doing it by hand but when using the central locking it moves a litle like it wants to but doesnt go all the way. I know of another hilux ute with the same problem just wondering if it is a common thing? The motor inside the door seems to operate alrite as I disconected the rod to make sure it works properly. So I am thinking it is in the lock rods, mechanism that is restricting it from pushing upwards all the way.

Also I have a very intermitant whining noise comming from behind the cab on the drivers side, fuel tank side. I have only heard it about 3 times since owning the car. all three times it has happened just after starting the car, at night time (lights on), and after just driving a few metres. WIll stop if I turn the car off, also seems to stop exactly when I pull over to get out and see exactly where it is comming from lol. It is very intermitant so I have no real clue why it is happening or what it is.

Best guess I can come up with is fuel pump on the way out or some sort of interferance. Definatley is an electrical whining sort of noise.

Any ideas?
