Water in indicator lamp assembly

Postby gordon77 » Fri Mar 25, 2005 2:37 pm

as said above my rear indicator lamp assembly (ae92 fxgt) decided that it wanted to be a fish bowl this morning after a bit of rain last night
i was going to take it out, get all the water out and then go round all the gaps with a clear filler (silicon maybe)

has anyone else had this problem an how do you fix it??? 8O

Yea, my old levin did that when I first got it. I took it out, cleaned off all the old sealent and used clear silicone when I put it back in. Had it for a further 6 years without problem.

i hadthe same prob with my ae92 :x if you still have problems sealing it you can drill little holes in the bottom of the lights and any water should drain out that gets in. make sure you check your light bulbs and light sockets cos if the water is sitting in ther for a while it can corride the light sockets or even short circiut it which starts blowning fuses and bulbs etc.

i had this problem on my ae92 trueno.
fixed it by drilling a tiny hole in the bottom and now any water just drains out.
