Yea, will have more guts down low than a VTEC
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I think he is talking about a JDM TRD version given he saw it on a Best motoring Vid....

I do like the local TRD Altezza though, i do question why Toyota NZ used a silver one and not a white one did throw me a tad

Hey Warrick, i came across a Japanese site the other day where this guy had a AE101 sedan (originally a 1.5 auto) which had a 210PS 3SGE transplant done, the translation discribed it as a TRD2000 model (which I always thought was the wide body SW20, but we digress) going by the bablefish translation I gather it was a one off "show" car TRD built, it apparantly had a full TRD interior, suspension etc. looked like a normal 101 sedan except for a 101 FXGT front bumper, this guy had converted it into a dedicated track car i think, he had an mpeg of it doing a lap of a track, sticking to this Type R Civic's (Race car not road car!) rear through the corners, comes to the straight and absolutely dusts the poor CTR!!!

If you ever was able to find any "actual" info and history on this car i am sure a few of us on here would love to read all about it!

dunno if you guys have actually seen a tezza 3sge head, sounds like some of you have but some havnt. thers not alot to them, the head are not that strong at all. but there is huge potential for these motors, just the shear flow values are amazing for a standard motor. I will take some pics of mine before t goes back to gether enxt week, it a very multi layered head, with not much strength, not overly suitable for turbos. but for NA grunt you cant beat it. there is alot of work that can be done to the bottom hed though, afterall toyota havent made any major changes in the 3sge block in 10yrs.
although the tezza comes with a 76mm tb, it has a restricting inlet manifold. this is why people get big gains instantly with itb's. (or carbs like me).

I guess it didn't but i was talking about Best Motoring International DVD's. i dont know if you've seen them before, they're very interesting to watch. Have heaps of cool races between high performance jap cars and euro's like BMW M3 CSL, Ferrari 360, Porche 911 turbo & GT3. you'd be suprised at how well the NSX type R, Evo's & WRX STi type C do against these things. They also have touge battles at the end of every vid. These guys are insane the way the drive down a narrow mountain road at full speed with not helmets or roll cages in over powered street cars. You can buy these dvd's from any repco store
