electric window problems

Hey,

in my celica, i hav the controls for both windows right, the drivers side, which has auto up and down aswell as normal, and the passenger side. Now im having trouble with the drivers side passenger controls. I can put the passenger window down, but when i push it to go up, it will rise a bit, and then slow down and stop, if i push it up again it may go a cm, and then stop, this is confusing, cos if the switch was busted, it just wouldnt work, but it works for a tiny bit, and then slows to a stop. When doing it from the passenger seat, it works fine. Any suggestions, will prob pull the switch out tomorrow and have a look, but suggestions on problem would be helpful

Sounds like a tired old motor. The motor does a lot more work to get it up than down.

Since its working ok from the other switch I would guess its dirty contacts in the switch on the drivers side or faulty wiring from that switch.
Pull the switch out and spray in some CRC Contact Cleaner and go from there.

seems most older celicas have terible contacts mine was faulty too cleaned the contacts and it was sweet on mine someone had been sitting in the passangers just playing with the switch when the window was already up

Its a celica thing. Mine does exactly the same thing but i can't be stuffed fixing it

Might do it tomorrow. Just a matter of taking off the door trim and taking out the swtich. Once you have it out sand the contacts.

Or just clean them with meths/contact cleaner.

Spraying contact cleaner down the edge of the switch will fix it for ages without even removing the door card.

i had the drivers trim off the other day cos was fixing the window which was wobbling when half way down, so yea mite hav a go at the switch tomorrow. cheers for ya help

Chances are i will be getting rid of it soon, shes been sitting out there for ages.

Turbo needs to be put in, the oil feed has been plugged, will require a new one, probbaly a new return line too. and alot of GOD DAMN BOLTS WONT COME OFF crap.

new turbo is there (in good nick, little movement on shaft), water to air intercooler is there, 2 power steering pumps (one wont fit lol, so i got another).

yeh >.> oh, and sterio is in the boot since only 1 speaker worked... so i ripped it out, and was gonna put a new one in, but OH WELL.

want to come look lol?
