Acid dipping/de-oxidising

Postby skoty » Tue Mar 29, 2005 5:21 pm

Do any of you guyz know where I can get a few various 4age parts acid dipped as they are oxidised like f**k. Any one had it done, how does the pricing side of things work? Are they able to dip entire gearbox housings etc with the internals still in place by covering up the output shaft etc?

no you cant dip entire gearboxs that have the internals inside.

you can however buy an alloy acid for cleaning alloy. brush on and hose off kinda thing, works very well,

i think i use a diluted form of hydrocloric acid, works extremely well, heads need a thorough valve grind afterwards though

most of it comes up chromeyish, probably 80% of what i do, the rest comes up like unpolished alloy
