4A-E missing

I have an 85 corolla with a 4A-ELU engine, recently it has randomly been missing violently.
Usually under light or no throttle, it will jerk and jump and the tacho will jump up and down. All my leads/plugs are fine, its not fuel surge. I was thinking maybe the MAP sensor or a vacuum leak?
It is getting worse and really annoying!

what about dizzy?

Arghh I hate cars sometimes! I figured that yes it might be the dizzy, so the ONLY thing I did was take the cap off, degrease and sand the terminals slightly and sand/clean the rotor very slightly.
Put the cap back on and it WILL NOT START at all! Cranks, has fuel+air, HT leads spark to earth, and correct firing order. Tried for 3 hours to figure it out today and now I am without a car HELP any ideas???

check ya engine earths, mine had the same symptons, turned out it was just a loose engine earth
