Repowering a 2Y

Postby Caveman » Wed Mar 30, 2005 10:38 pm

What would be a good engine to repower a 87 Mark II with a 2Y (SOHC non-crossflow carby). It has a W55 gearbox standard.

I was thinking along the lines of a 2t or 3t or even an 18RG. I thought I should also ask about the amount of fabrication needed or wheather they will bolt straight in.

18RG/18RGEU :?: I'm pretty sure you can get mounts, x-member and bellhousing cheap as from a similar car that came with 18r, 21r etc. Also not too hard to find a sidedraught manifold for the 18RG if you can't be bothered with sorting out efi :)
