The most difficult thing was to get the transition nice and smooth to avoid
having a "bump" in the boost curve.

This was essentially my idea also. I do think that this approach will lead to the most complicated setup, but should also give the best result since you're not try to suck/blow air through another device. And cause they're in parallel you should be able to minimise the intake lengths; use one intercooler, or two if you wanted to specialise more; and if you're cunning enough and your system is smart enough, you could have just one charger running at a time, eliminating some of the losses incurred by the one not diong much.

i was involved in an interesting discussion on mr2oc.com about twincharging. i will find the link, some people had some very useful input (Driftin_AW is me)
here's the link:
http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=79853

but to be honest you don't sound very smart at all, so if you get it to work it will likely be through pure fluke

Why put all of this work into a front wheel drive car?
Its not as if you will even be able to put the power to the ground.

The twincharge kit was destined for the AW11. :P

thanks forthe imput guys. all_wheels what u mean not smart i used to work in a guarage. i've made the first steeps and been to some performance guarages and they are rite behind me. one of the lead machanics was so into it because he has one himself and offered to help. once its all done i'll post some images up.. and hope so be at the 4's and rotarys next yea. its not much of a big job if you have the equipment and have people that have done it befor helping you.

im pretty sure you wont be able to run in the street class if you plan on racing with that setup.. with having more than one power adder and all...

thats kindda like saying that a twin turbo subaru cant enter

its just a fixed displacement compressor and a centivical compressor when it all boils down to it

i had a very serious look at what you want to do andi agree its not difficult
i looked at useing the 2 in parallel for reasons of smooth power and the ability it gives to use a bigger turbo with minimal lag....

Man you gotta love this guy.

He has this crazy idea that there is some sort of exclusivity as to what sorts of motors can run twelves.

hrmm.. how about get a 4cylinder? I guess doesnt have the same flow to it as "Get a v8" sounds much like "get a rota" (with or without the optional boi!)

try this on for size.. get a 3S
or a 2J

OR any engine you like if you have the money!

shouldnt need to have to spell it out for you vvega

'power adder' being a single method of adding power - turbocharging being one method, supercharging being something different, nitrous oxide being another different method  ..

What ever you decide to go with, dont just slap it together, make sure you spend some time designing it first. Even get an engineer who has had some experience developing this kind of thing to give you advice.

At the end of the day how well you designed it in the first place is going to determine how well it works. :)

forced induction is one method nitrus oxide is another
there is no difference between the type of induction between s/c and turbo there is only a differance to a method ones mecanicaly coupled the other is gas coupled, other than the coupling there is no diffeance

unlike nitrus that supplys a oxidser and a fuel element constatuting a chemical reation

i think youll also find that it wouldnt be the first time a twincharged system has been in street.......... i might have to tri to find the magazine artical for you

I mentioned earlier that we had tried twincharging as found it unseccessful,
but we were running them in series,

I think that if you run them in parallel you will get entirely different results.

Course 4cyl's can run 12's...but they're still little 4cyl's. And I've never seen a 4 banga run in the 7's...

You need to get out more then, 4 cylinders have been running in the 7's for years.

like i said earlyer i got tired of my m8s saying it'll never beat a V8.(they say this because they all own chevs, holdens or vallents) so i am here to prove them wrong. yes i will be setting it up as an inline setup. yes an engineer is a good idea i'm going to get rite onto that. thanks for the sugestions and input guys.
