DX Chrome Bumper Differences

Postby pervert » Sun Apr 03, 2005 8:56 pm

How many different style chrome bumpers are there for the KE70 DX's?

It seems the vast majority have the flat chrome bumpers with the indent running through the middle and the black plastic endcaps.

Mine have no indent in the bumper, and no black plastic endcaps, they wrap around, as can be seen here.

Are there any other types, if not how common are the ones like mine, or did all the liftback KE70's have them?

Thanks.

Thanks, did all the sedans/wagons have the capped, and all the liftbacks non-capped?

the front and rear guards on a liftback/coupe are different to the sedan/wagon. the sedan/wagon have an angled recess for the bumpers.all imported liftback/coupes (and most imported sedans) i have seen, have the full plastic bumper.

hey pervert.. your type chrome bumpers are the most wanted for coupe/liftback/hardtop. think they're the earlier type. seen some jap ones have clear park lights in the bumper instead of indicator too.

ive seen two types of chrome ones with plastic end caps.. some with groove through middle and indicator at the ends (late type)?, some without groove. theres different length end caps too.
then theres da big plastic bumpers with indicators underneath. theres pointy and flat front versions.
hard to say exactly what came on what coz nz and jap versions arent equal
this site highly recommended for E7 owners.. click the link and wait for intro... nice!

Yeah there are

the early model chrome ones with no dent and small plastic end caps, front indicators in the middle (sedans and wagons)

then late model chrome ones with the crease and indicators at the bottom these have long end caps that bolt to the guards (sedans and wagons, but the wagons only got creased front bumpers and carried on with the early type rears)

Full Chrome no plastic ones (perverts ones) are supposly for coupes and liftbacks

Then there are those horride black plastic ones which stick out so far you can use the rear one as a bench seat,

The chrome ones are on uk models, the black plastic ones on the usa and canada models, most of the black plastic ones seem to be on the te71s and the coupes and liftbacks
