4agze gearbox cooler possible?

Postby ATAl » Tue Apr 05, 2005 8:31 pm

There seem to be many internet rumours around that a oil cooler can be hooked up to a 4agze gearbox by removing the pipe loop at the bottom of the gearbox and hooking up cooler pipes instead.

Is this true, will it work by itself or would it require some sort of electric pump to move oil (also heard rumours that the box has a built in oil pump).

Has anyone ever done this?

That loop pipe is connected to an internal oil pump in the gearbox so no need for any sort of external pump. Just remove the loop and fit your cooler.
See ya

Yes the loop itself is like a mini cooler.

So if I were to get a radiator out of an auto with the built in gearbox cooler, I could hook up the gze gearbox no problems (except making appropriate hosing of course)?

sorry to hijack the thread. But, what difference does this make? Is it noticeable/ worth doing for a non race car?

or is there just less wear on the g/box?
