Flat Spots

Postby dotdog » Mon Apr 04, 2005 3:58 pm

Hey all, seems my car (Ep71 Turbo S Starlet) has developed a bit of a flat spot (and not the sort that is on the back tyres). I put a earthing kit on and ever since it seems to have had a massive flat spot between 3K and 4K, when its on boost, which is bout 13-14psi, ive played around with the fueling, timing, plug gaps and seem not to be making much progress, anyone got any ideas, cause its got me stuffed

tryed changing the plugs Checking the Rotor? leads

it sounds simlar to what my EP82 was doing when the rotor was on its last legs.

another thing was the spark plug lead had a crack and was arcing onto the barrel of the head. causeing problems

But check the basics first
