Runout in back wheel?

Postby TygerTung » Fri Apr 29, 2005 2:13 am

I noticed when motoring my KE36 over on jacks that there is a bit of a wobble in the rear wheel!!!!

What could be causing this?

Also when at about 170 kmh a vibration comes through the car from the back, do you think this might be because of the runout?

Is this runout very bad, or is it sort of normal?

Any advice would be great!!!

Haha, have not heard of someone cranking their car on jacks for so long.
Where did you have the stands supporting?- its unlikely to make much of a difference, but if you had them supporting the body, but the wheels dropped, it could cause a slight vibration as the wheels are at their max drop?
Just one wheel wobbling?- could be a slightly buckled wheel/hub or even some free play from the shaft?
Just some 5c (soon to be 10c) thoughts :)
Cant believe im still a member here.

Try swapping your wheels over, see if the problem changes side. If it does replace the wheel.

Nah they were supported on the axel of the live rear end.

I'll try swapping the wheels over and see if that solves anything :)
