Warped AE92 (FX)GT brake rotors?

Right, the front rotors on my AE92 club car were giving me a bit of a shimmy from high speed hard braking ... telling me that the mintex pads are pretty hard on standard discs under heavy use (and I do mean heavy use) since the discs would be less than 5,000km old.

But, $65 or so a rotor, it's no big deal.

My question is, should I bother hanging on to the old ones, or giving them away? Once they start the shimmy, can they be skimmed true again for somebody to use on the road, or should I just chuck them in the bin?

If they're any good, there is bound to be a Wellington toyspeeder who can use some AE92 discs (hint hint, free AE92 GT discs going to first person who asks for them).

Once they're skimmed if they're still within minimum spec they should be fine for road use. Also make sure that your wheel nuts are torqued right as I know that AW11's have problems with warped disks if the nuts aren't correctly done - it's 74ft/lbs for the AW - the AE92 would be much the same I suspect.

I already purchased and fitted brand new discs ... I was just asking if these slightly warped ones were any good to anyone else
