3k head on a 4k..opinions

hey

i've heard good and bad things about doing this but what is your opinion on it? i'm thinking about doing it but not gonna bother if it ain't worth it
chicken fillet and bacon with everything except onion and bbq, ranch and southwest sauces

Its the 3k-b head most people use...pushes compression up, which provided you can add fuel and adjust timing to suit, will result in a bit more power.

from memeory the 3kb head has the correct port sizing for side-draft manifolds as well.

I rebuilt my 4k Corolla with std 4k pistons and the 3KB head.
Was a real good car to drive. Heaps more than a normal 4K.
Dont know if it was because it was a 3k head or if it was because it was the bigport 3KB.

and the 3kb head comes out standard with twin carbs so is easily matched for twin sideys . this is wot i had done on my dx and chucked in a wild cam and it went really well , was a fun car until i needed more power :twisted:

yes the 3kb head has larger ports in it. but i cant remeber wether the normal 3k-u head was beter over the 3kb head or not?...
