urgent help please changing gear box oil

hey you'll jst doing a spot of maintance on my car, can anyone descreibe or has image of where drain plug/bolt for letting out gearbox oil on 4afe engine is(manual gearbox) and also the plug/bolt to fill it back up
drive it till it breaks, then upgrade it

thats the filler bolt. (smack bang in the center, look closely)

drainage bolt is on the bottom of the gearbox (90 degrees around from where that bolt is).

if you need more pix, gimmie a yell.

this is of a 4age, ae111 trueno. you can see the battery on the right, and the dizzy on the upper left

can hardly make it out put if i have a look at mine ill probably see it all cheers
drive it till it breaks, then upgrade it

its a pretty huge but flatish bolt...hard to miss.

Prob 23mm from memory?

make sure you hold the socket against the bolt, you do NOT want to round those bolts off.

And unlike myself in my earlier days, try not to tighten it back up with a breaker bar, even a moderate amount of force could eventuate in a new gearbox :wink:

i can see the drain bolt thats all sweet, is the fill bolt the one with the allan key slot in the top???????????

Its the same type of bolt but just up higher on the gearbox

and how much gearbox oil/fluid will it take i guess i should put the same amount back in as what came out??????

just fill till it reachs the bottom of the hole, a little dribble out is the correct amount. will be between 2.2 and 3.5 litres

2nd queery and main reason behind the fluid change,car has 168tho kay's on it now, the gearbox changes fine no hesitation typically notchy toyota box,but it is fairly noisey as in if im driving along without the stereo it stands out like a horses dong, i figured a fliud change wont hurt, but as i said it all works fine any other suggestions as to what it could be??
