heres the weird thing
my water temp sensor is on that pipe coming from the engine, where the water directly exits the engine....literally directly exiting the engine...ok so, it reads the hotest possible temp....

now, the water pump that puts the water from the radiator to engine and into the radiator again, is that constantly on? and pumping? does that have a variable pump rate according to temperature and revs?

my gauge is an auto gauge, electronic gauge for water temp, the reading is always around 110 - 120...in the mornikng when i start it, its always straight away on warm, like, lets say 80 minimum....now this doesnt make sence, i know some cars water are hotter than others, but....does hits make sence, anyone know whats wrong?

Water pumps are typically driven by the cam belt and are always operational.
They are typically a straight driven pump, meaning there is no gearing involved. So will be relative to the RPM.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

so the higher the rpm and the more i work the engine, the faster the water would pump around the engine to dcool it is that right?> so if i rev the engine, the pump would then pump quicker in turn putting ore colder water into the eingine to cool it? is that correct?

does anyone know why my sensor of my water temp is always high...i mean it does come straight out of the engine....so the temp its reading is directly the water that has just cooled the engine but is this normal that its around110-120?? or is it possible that the install of the gauge was wrong and its making it read permanently on 110-120??? i mean its a pretty simple install ...

What the hell. Somethings been $&#$% up. Yes, the waterpump is driven by a drivebelt or the cambelt. Yes the speed of the pump will be relative to engine RPM. When the engine is stone cold, the temperature gauge reading should be close to ambient temperature. The thermostat will open and allow coolant to circulate through the radiator and back into the engine when the opening temperature of the thermostat has been reached. Normal operating temperature of a car would be somewhere around 90-100degrees. Once the engine is at operating temperature, it should remain constant.

did you use the factory temperature sensor, or the one supplied with the gauge?

the factory sender unit is set to the same resistance as the factory gauge and will give a false signal to an alternative gauge.

im using all aftermarket parts, the sensor that came from the gauge is installed on the outlet from the engine, right beside it...the factory sensor and gauge is left as it is so is functioning as normal, but the other one, seems o be always high, abit confusing....
any ideas? would this have anything to do with the install?

Have you changed the sender to the gauge? If you have then it could be the wrong colour, have a look there are different ones around. To check if the sender unit is faulty....Unplug it and earth the wire out to the engine with the key on and have a look at the gauge. If the gauge is on really hot then your sender could be the problem.

Also check it out before earthing the wire to make sure there is no short between.
