TA61 Carina GT: Fix it or strip it?

Postby Hachiroku » Tue May 24, 2005 11:06 pm

I've got a TA61 Carina (2tgeu, T50, discs etc) which I've been fixing up to put back on the road, but I'm beginning to wonder whether it might be better to just take off the good bits and scrap it. It's a bit untidy, 250kms on the clock, a bit of rust to fix with some rough repairs already done. Reg on hold. I've just put brand new plugs, leads, rocker cover gasket, air filter and front shocks on it (though it cost me stuff all and I can probably sell/re-use the shocks). What do you reckon?

Fix it, it's another one that much further away from extinction then.

Its worth keeping if its not too rusty. Rust is the only thing that will stop you as 2t's are cheaps as, so are most other parts. I have a 2t powered farm car 350km and still going hard
