whats that lurking under the drivers seat in an ae111?

as topic, what is that black box located underneath the drivers seat in my g/fs ae111 (4afe)

it has a blue plug with about 8 wires in it.

i will take pics if needed

get me some numbers off it...
but its likely to be stereo amps or a control unit of some sort

ah ok, thats the denso number, cant do anything with that.
unplug it and see what doesnt go :lol:

it kinda looks stereo related, but the stereo still worked when i unplugged it.

but the stereo has been replaced with an aftermarket headunit, so possible that they bypassed that, if it is stereo related.

but seriously, i think I had somehting like that in the levin when I first got it. But took it out straight away and its long goooooone. Thought it was a shittly lil amp.

Check does it have factory remote locking if it does that will be what it's for - my old 101 had it and i'd say that was what evlgtz's was too but normally the battery only lasts for about 10 years before they die then you have a hell of a job replacing them or just get an alarm instead like i did 8)

the remotes (for camarys anyway) are not servicable units have to buy a new one when the battery dies :(

My car came into the country with the remote locking working, i had to get an alarm/immobilser installed, and the remote locking does a good job of bypassing my alarm/immobiliser, so might be an idea to take that out if u intend alarming ya car :lol:
