10k will get u no where.

Roll cage alone will cost around $2k for a nice one.

speedtech made a dx sedan corolla with a 4agte 20v that does 10s maybe even faster now. that was still with standard rods and pistons i think. Just a huge hks turbo hanging on it.

Mate, just get a little kp starlet, stick a 4agte 20v on it, big turbo, forged internals, cams etc, ecu, drag tyres, suspension etc etc. and you can do 10s but thats far more than $10k

Dude, you set some high goals there.
Get an AW11 ($1-2k) a 3SGTE ($2k) LinkPlus ECU($2k), which will leave you about $4-5k to have everything installed and tuned, which wont be too far off what you'll need.
That'll get you running mid high 13's off the bat, then gradually work from that platform.
$10k wont get you into the 11's, unless you get something prebuilt.

i got an email from him a few weeks ago (3) for a quote for cage, it was around 1400.

since he cant do any work for me i need something alot less involving...

Nah, a basic cage can be done for that....used to be a guy in Levin who did homologated cages for RX-7s (admittedly a fairly simple cage) for IIRC $1200

4g-GT is group b

Postby lowridding » Mon May 30, 2005 10:26 pm

4G-GTue is the toyota group b and c rally car engine based on the 3t.
If it aint broke, help it along.

To go fast is fine, to look good is ok, but only a fool tries to do both at the same time.

We do a lot of cages down here.

$1000 is a good approx figure for a 6 point cage,

but thats to supply and fit the cage, not to strip out the interior to do it.

PM me your Ph number if your keen and I'll pass it on to dad who does the cages.
Also where in NZ are you? because for it to be done you will need to bring the car to Timaru.
