RT84 corona lowering

Postby Dori_85 » Tue May 31, 2005 8:05 pm

hey, i picked up a 71 corona last week. the front springs have been cut and its got 70mm blocks in the back. i like the height it is(from guard to tyre theres about 1-2cm on 13"s and 50s series tyres) the front is 70mm off the ground, which isnt legal but oh well.
heres what im planning to do to make it legal. reset the leaf springs in rear and get some 50mm blocks(easy enough), get some custom made springs and shortend shocks to suit for the front and basicly keep the height it is and get it certified.
BUT the front steering arms will still have mad angle upwards, which i think the certifier will not approve of.
what are my options here? other than raising the front.

cheers

You can get rose joints put in your lower arms to fix up the suspension geometry.

because of its double a-arm front setup rose jointing will not really work, however low springs are the same as gemini standard height srpings i think, i'll ahve to look back over my notes. How much travel do you have? Id think you would have next to zilch? The best suspension setup will be found from a rest and only 20mm max blocks, big blocks stuff up the geometery completly. Friend has some of the low springs in his corona, and he has only aboout 10mm travel in the front, however the bump stops are huge! Im currently working on a bolt on big brake up upgrade, so might be able to help with them if your keen.

Cheers
