Corolla Ceres multi-mode thingy

Hi there, we just purchased a AE101 Corolla Ceres, 4AFE model.

What I am curious about is there is a clock on the dash, and then just below the clock, with the clock buttons is a mode button. We think the back light in the clock is broken, becos we can shine a torch on it and we see all. But What does the mode button display?


Also it would be cool if someone had a English manual for one these

It display date and other useless info in japanese (it will come up with messages when: your fuel low, your water in washer low, your batterey fluid level low) and it is quite annoying, especially fuel bit, it would be all the time when light is on, instead of displaying time...

if you will pull it out and undo 4(?) small screw there is a small wedge bulb inside, which need to be replaced
