Dunno what kinda car you've got, but how about the sensor for an airbag/ seatbelt light? Have one under my Curren's seat too... only thing I could think of.

Could always try unplugging it and see what happens...

Just kidding by the way- seriously, may seem like I'm sayin' something stupid, but would toyota dealership know?

I know exactly what it is as i removed and replaced one the other day in a Rav 4 and it was exactly the same.

It is a jap aftermarket remote central locking kit.

They are a plug in kit available in japan.

Unfortunatly if you do not have the remote for it you cannot get them as it is not a toyota part.

It will not affect anything and if you want to remove it, it's all just a plug in kit so is a piece of cake.
