ct9 turbo on 4efte

Postby phillfone » Sat Jun 11, 2005 7:03 pm

Hi you may have seen my earlier posts on the turbo convesion on my granpa rolla. I am putting in a 4efte. I am new to turbo's, and was wondering what setup does the 4e-fte have as stock for a blow off valve? is there an advantage in upgrading this? I don't want something loud that gives away the fact that I got a turbo so I believe i can put a plumb BOV on but isn't this what the standard setup is?? I confused. Is there another toyota model that has a BOV that will fit?

Cheers

excuse my ignorance

The standard ones are a plumb back and arent the greatest but will do the job if you arent running more than around 11 psi.

They sit on the stock spaghetti intake pipe which winds its way over the exhaust manifold and to the back corner of the engine bay. It also has the oil breather plumbed into it as well, so if you bin the standard one it would be best to get a catch can as well.

The standard bov's seem to work pritty shit hot really, tonys running one on his 4efte with around 117kws at the wheels. They seem to be pritty good if you dont want the wank factor
