Wheel Repair (Painting)

I let a female drive my car, one wheel got badly curbed on two spokes. End of story...

Now, I have taken the rim and sanded and filled all the scratches smooth, and I am left with 4 patches of rim about 2cm squared each, because the top layer of alloy has been sanded off, I am left with a black surface, which sticks out pretty bad.

I was wondering what the best method for painting a normal alloy wheel is, fortunately they are very flat faced, and the areas that need painting are all perfectly flat.

Lastly, and most important, does anyone know where you can buy spray paint that will most closely match the usual alloy surface, like who makes it, and what is it called?

you could take a wheel into an auto paint shop and get some paint matched to it, or you could lightly scuff back all your wheels and paint them all with the same colour if you're really anal about having them all matching perfectly. Spray can should do a reasonable job if you know what you're doing, and you can always buff them when you're done to improve the shine if you desire.

Yes, it doesn't have to mint, I don't like paying people to do things, my car is a hobbie for me, if I can do it and it comes out half decent, I would prefer that.

I just want a close colour match that isn't going to be too noticable from a few metres away...

i dono its universal it comes in silver or gold, if you want a can pm me and il order you one as we only ever seam to have gold. Its only about $13.

tha exact paint colour match for this is around $150 per 100 ml , yes super silver is more expensive than harlequin
I had the same prob and ended up givin it to a painter as no matter wot u do , u wont get a close match .
I've learnt from my mistakes and u should too , dont let teh girls drive the car , end of story

What has always been good for me for colour matching is just take a mag down to Rainbow Paints (near speedworks) and get them to patch up a shiney silver.
TSW mags are the worst because the have a very shiney finish, but i'd imagine Rainbow paints could whip you something up.
