get as long as you can.. 18" or longer if you can.

2 of them... and i suggest you use a *normel* muffler, not a big can like mine... and many others on these forums... with them you can either have it quite loud, or quiet... id rather have it in the middle to be honest... if i could do it again, id probbaly use a trd muffler (if it was cheap enough :) ), or just a run of the mill one, with a 2 and a quarter in and outlet.

Those cans sound pretty good at idle.. problem is, oh thats without a silencer btw, but problem is, once its revving above 3k rpm... it gets a little *cop magnet material*... above 5 and you really start o draw attention..

keep going and well, noise is basically the same.... giant bumble bee :D

but she sounds mint down low now :D

I run a cat-back ( gutted witha straight through pipe welded through it ), exhaust, 54mm mandrel bent piping to a N1 style muffler. I still use the factory resonator which gives it a better tone. Its a little loud but the muffler has a 30mm centre silencer which cuts out alot of noise. I have it fitted around town and then remove it for track days. The factory resonator is about 18" long, so something about the same size should work quite well.

if you dont want that rasp, and want a more deep tone, as many and as long as you can fit.

im told you can only fit 2 18" ones under there, but with a bit of thinking and mucking around, (welding them closer) i reackon you could fit 3.

i dont think it makes much difference... you could try at the header end then the back end... and see what difference it does make, but seriously, only you would notice the difference ;).
