LSD on spacesaver :(

so my wheel came off last weekend due to shearing a wheel stud. couldnt quite get the 17" rim back on due the rest of the studs being a tad bent and so was forced to use a 14" spacesaver to get approx 20km to where we could fix it all up and put new studs in..
i could tell the lsd didnt appreciate it much by the groaning and grabbing and whatnot on the way back. now since ive been driving it , ive noticed the lsd to be slightly noiser than it was before , and funnily enough it seems to grab a bit more..
question is , how bad is it driving with a 3" difference in rims on an lsd diff and how likely am i to have damaged it? hope i havent coz i kinda like this one

it would have been quite hard on it
is it a viscous or plate type
viscous will be fine
plate you have prolly just worn a bit
i doubt you would have damaged the unit itself as it was really only do ing what it is spose to do...

i think its just a pretty tight viscous..its got a bit of slip in it.seemed to handle it alright in a straight line but when turning was none too happy.it still seems to be working alright tho.im just covering all bases

Yours is a plate type and as 'v' says it is only doing what it is designed to do but you may have overheated the oil and it could have done some damage. I would not recommend driving it with different size wheels on it.

agree compleatly maybe a change of oil is required you may have killed the oil with all the heat it would have generated
