Postby 1JZ » Thu Jun 23, 2005 6:08 pm

hey all,

was wondering how hard it would be to put a 1jz-gte in a ma70 supra? would it bolt straight in? or what needs doing? any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

That would depend on what year the Supra is that you are putting the 1JZ into.

If it's pre 89 then it won't go in as the crossmember will cause issues. (Pre 89 has square x-member)

If it's an 89+ with the round xmember then it should basically go straight in. You'll need to modify the mounts a bit since they'll be for a 7M but that's no biggy.

Other than than the motor should drop straight in no problems as long as you have the right xmember and the mounts line up.

wiring, power steering etc will need a little bit of work too, there are some differences in chassis looms between the two (different alternator locations and stuff). other than that, everything else is minor afaik
