Own a black car? visiblity poll.

Postby Steelo » Thu Jun 23, 2005 7:31 pm

Do you believe that you are not as visible to other motorists because you drive a black or a dark coloured car?

Comparing it to another colour car you have owned, do you get more 'run ins' with other cars?

What do you all think?

At night maybe....

Any other time, not really an issue...

People seem to see me less when im in my white car, as opposed to my black one at any time of the day

Dont think its a problem, at night would be worse but you have lights on so you're just like every other car.

Personally I find the lighter coloured cars worst because you cant see them in bad weather etc

Personally, i am yet to see a car that doesnt look bad in black, sure it might 'appear' dirty then a white car with the same dirtyness, but when clean, a gloss black is piirrty 8)

Black cars get hot.

Make sure you have air conditioning.

Other than that no problems.

Oh and adds a few more points to your "cop magnet" status, but no where near as much as a fart can or cutties.

Personally i think if you cant see a black car on the road, you should get you eyesight checked of quit driving altogether.

Reguardless of what colour car im driving if its crap weather, or dim light i drive with my headlights on!!

oh and all my cars are black

Black and darkly coloured cars are much harder to identify (esp. dark green)
when driving along roads such as the rimutakas during bad weather,
(except when its really bad weather and it snows and then white cars are bad, and black cars are good...)

Ive owned 2 black cars previous to my bright red one now, and I'd have to say it makes a difference. I have a LOT less trouble with people pulling in front of me etc. A black/Grey car tends to blend in with the road especialy on a grey shitty rainy day.

They paint firetrucks etc red for a reason, because it 'stands out'.

Just common sense people.

We've had many black cars in our family, and they are just like any other cars on the road. At night u have lights on and that makes no difference ..

And yes, black cars tend to get a lot hotter under the sun, so protect your leathers ..
