over drive pully 8psi?

Postby Voodoo » Thu Apr 21, 2005 6:13 pm

i recently added an over drive pully to my 4agze, anyway hooked up my boost guage and its only reading 8psi? yet it feels alot quicker than it did?

ive had a look through the tech sections on the abv mod, but because mines a transplanted engine the hoses are all over the place , and not like it looks factory,

so would it be possible that my guage isnt reading right or that for some reason ive still got the cut? would a 175m pully still make it quicker even hitting 8psi cut?

also has anyone got a pic of what the inlet bypass valve looks like and where the vacuum feed from the inlet manifold comes from

also thinking, what would happen it the bypass valve was disconected all together?

there is a small vacuum line to the bypass valve, (abv) disconnect and block this line,
you can go the the extent of removing the entire abv unit if you want, will need to plug the 2 ends off.

were have you taken the boost guage line from?

check the intercooler, hoses and clamps it could be possible there is a boost leak,

and pm me your address i still have a s/c dipstick sitting here for you..

Its a 14 pound one that only makes 10pis
and by bypasing the abv it made 10psi
and blooking the vac line made it do 10psi
and bashing it with fing big stick made it goto 10psi
and yes its is a 14psi pulley kit

could be your boost gauge too, my gauge was reading 11psi, but once on the dyno we found it was only making 8psi.

if its not a quailty boost gauge, dont trust it.

your problem is probably something else though
Horsepower is NOT proportional to the cross sectional area of your exhaust tip.
