[Question] Clutch doesn't work after high rev?

Postby Bahamuth » Wed Jun 29, 2005 6:47 pm

I was accelerate quite hard on 1st gear and when I want to change to 2nd gear the clutch just feel there is no pressure. I'm not quite sure how to describe it. When I step on it, it feel empty, it just went in. I let go my clutch and step on it again and there still no pressure. I give it couple of second and let my car just rolling on neutral and the pressure come back again (I feel it's softer than before).

Btw, I just change my wheel from 14" to 15" and it happen when I try to test drive the car with 15" wheel.

This is the first time I had this, before it never happen after high rev. I'm thinking something wrong with the pressure plate, because the clutch just feel empty. Anyone experienced this problem before? or anyone know how to fix/look for the problem if this happen again? Thanks.

[Question] Clutch doesn't work after high rev?

Check the fluid level in the clutch reservoir. I had a leak from the
master cylinder (inside the car, fluid ran down under the driver's
floor mat) and the pedal would hit the floor with no resistance :(
It would pump up after filling the reservoir, but had to replace the
master cylinder for a permanent fix.

Same happens when the master or slave cylinder piston seal goes, you gotta pump it a couple of times to get enough pressure to disengage..

Thanks for the reply guys.
I did check the fluid for clutch, it seem still full. I tried test driving the car again yesterday and today, did a bit fast acceleration with high rev and the clutch seem to work fine. I will do more test, doesn't feel safe when I have no idea what is wrong or when its going to happen again. :?
any advice on how to test? what else should I do to test and make sure the everything is alrite.

i am having the same problem. as suggested in my post about it perhaps try a clutch bleed, or pull back the boot on your slave cylinder and check that there is no moisture in there
cheers
