4AGZE Piston Dimensions

Postby agent orange » Fri Jul 01, 2005 9:42 am

Hi Guys, I have searched the 'net and this site, and cannot find the answer to these questions. I was hoping you may be able to help.

-What is the compression height of both the 8.0:1 and 8.9:1 4AGZE pistons?

-What is the volume of the dish in the pistons?

-From what I have calculated, the pistons in a 4AGZE sit ~0.9mm below the deck of the block at TDC, is this correct?

-Lastly, are 4AGZE headgaskets ~1.27mm thick?

The reason I am asking these questions is because I am looking at the possibility of using these pistons in a non-Toyota engine 8O

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for that Mr Revhead.

Do you or anyone else know if the piston tops are below, flush, or above the deck when at TDC?

I have ross pistons which are 8.0:1, they sit 1m below deck, and the cc of that with the 1mm down is 24cc, so you could easily work it out from there.
I'm pretty sure that my ross ones are the same in dimension as the 4agze 8.0:1 pistons....

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm keen to get a set of 8.0:1 pistons but have 1 final question:
Do the early 8.0:1 pistons use a wire circlip-retained floating 20mm pin like the later 8.9:1 ones? Or are they press fit in the rod with no circlip groove in the piston?
