3sgte rod bolt options?

Postby BBBrad » Tue Jul 05, 2005 11:45 pm

Whats the deal with rod bolts for my gen3? I have heard that the arp bolts dont fit properly? Is there other options? Trd maybe? Would new standard ones be ok for an approx 400hp level build?

what do you have in there at the moment? If it's just totally standard bottom end, my advice is if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

the ARP bolts / studs should work, but might need minor modifications to the block to make them clear *appearntly*.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

apparently what ARP have listed are a bit too short, and require milling down of the seating surface on the bearing cap to make them sit properly.

the biggest problem iv found with ARP bolts is ppl not supplying the correct kit, things like buying a chev v8 kit and splitting it into 2 to make 2 kits.
id be very suprised if the proper ARP kit doesnt fit
