flywheel

Postby fxgt race » Wed Jul 06, 2005 6:55 pm

I've had a standard bluetop flywheel lightened that was lighter than that blacktop wheel and now have a silvertop wheel that has been lightened in my race car and it is happy to rev at 8500rpm all day and takes all the abuse i can throw at it on the track, they haven't failed ,just make sure the flywheel is balanced to the pressure plate.

Heres a photo of my blacktop flywheel. Changed the clutch a couple of weeks ago.

My mate whos an ex Toyota mechanic said he hasn't seen one that light before. Normally its meaty as all the way around where the pressure plate bolts on, On this one there is nothing there.

Gosh darnit, beat me to it!

I'm not particularly fond of 20v's, and even *I* knew that!!! :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

yeah thats a stock blacktop flywheel.
the silver top has those parts filled in.
thats where you want to lose any weight.

any flywheel that fits a 4age, will fit a 4agze. you just need to consider clutch options
