hmmm...

Yeh my 4age runs fairly high oil pressure compared to spec. Obviously when the engine is cold (oil thicker), pressure will be initally high. however when the oil thins out due to engine warming up my pressure reading is between 40-100psi (idle to high rpm)

Man I'm glad you put up a post about this.

Just yesterday I jumped in my AE92 fxgt and noticed the oil pressure guage sitting right on high. It did come down when it was idling at the lights, but when I put my foot down it shot straight back up again.

I'm sure it wasn't like this before, and now it's stuck on high - even when I turn the ignition off!!

What's up with that?
Go hard and get amongst it!

could be worse,far worse.

i'm currently using mine as a rev counter because the thrown together specail i built has a clearance issue somewhere.
when cold it's not too bad, but after a sprint or a few laps there is no pressure at idle.

Its fine matt.

4ages are known for highish oil pressures. Can become a problem with the turbo ones requiring restrictors in the turbo lines, extra breathers etc etc

but yeah sounds normal from my experiences with 4ages

as for it being lower on idle and higher when driving thats normal too

enjoy

remember its afactory gauge too so not super accurate.

my 3sgte sits on about 6-7 bar when start up, as engine warms it comes down to 3-4 bar at idle - always picks up to 6 bar or so when accelerating.

My big port used to show less than 1/4 when hot (as in just off laps at Manfeild hot). It also ran a bearing at the MR2 club track day. Ooops.
