Half Shaft Lengths for Ltd Slip Diff

Post by StyToy »

Hi Guys

Have just put a ltd slip diff in the AE86 as supplied by the previous owner. Not sure of the details but it just slotted into the old diff housing and is a 5.1 ratio from what I was told.

The problem is that the half shafts now appear to be about 5mm too long. Is this normal when going from an open diff and if so, whats the best way of making them fit? I figured milling the 5mm off the spline end should do the trick.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Jock
