Locks the center diff so it just means its distributes the power at 50/50. The Ae9x series of 4wd do not have LSD i would be suprised if later ones do...

sounds very similar to early st165 setup (E50F1 I think the box was called). These also had open rear diffs so if the corolla has that too it could be worth upgrading to a gt4 torsen.
Your mate has emailed me, I'm hoping he will come over on the weekend so I can convince him to do the GT4 swap :twisted:

sweet as. u will like the look of the car when u see it... a bit different.
i tried tellin him last nite to do the gt-4 conversion, he rekons its gna be easier to do the 4agze so u dont need to change any engine mounts
doin it sideways
