Yes but i'm saying, most of those broken BMW's will be ones that are owned by people with no taste, modifying it the wrong way.

He right, I raced him in my TVR Speed 12 and he pwn3d me hardc0r3
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Either that or 850's with suspension problems, or any V12 engined example, or some of the other common BMW faults, there are so many.

IME Mercs have fewer problems but are are more geared toward the luxury end of the market rather than the performance side, with some notable exceptions of course.

As for the two cars suggested, I'd pick the lesser of two evils and go for the BMW. 190's are painfully slow and handle like a soggy marshmellow, unless it's the 2.3litre Cosworth powered example ;)

For general all round good euro cars I much prefer Audi, and some of the more sporty VW's, to either BMW, Mercedes or any Italian cars except Ferrari. Even then I can't say that I'd recommend a Ferrari to anyone who wasn't an enthusiast, apart from the cost, they're poorly built, unreliable and require a lot of very expensive maintainence, but they do sound great

If you can find one for sale.... and its dam near impossible.... go for a 328IS..... in manual.. these are easily as rare as a factory manual 1jzgte mk3 supra.... and essentually. they are a m3 without the m3 engine... everything else is the same......

Or if you really wanna go nuts... try finding a 850CSI...... i think these dont even exist in NZ they are so rare.. but $&#$% me..... v12 goodness.... 0-100 in 5.4 seconds..... mmmmm tasty.....
"The air is heavy with antisipation as cozmo revs, drops the clutch and...... stalls with the hand brake on"........ "cozmo's hand brake one, cozmo 0"

Strike 1- it's an 850, therefore it will have suspension problems.
Strike 2- it's a V12, therefore it will have engine problems.
Strike 3- maintenance costs rival that of a Ferrari.

Much better is a 1980's M6, they're a far nicer car and even had good results in endurance racing.

Yeah I know all those things.... but i dunno...i just love those dam things... the look $&#$% staunch... but year to be honest id try and find one of the late 80's m3's .... 200hp out of a fourbanger aint bad... and they handle like a dream im told.... :)

Take a BMW man ....

We've have plenty of BMW's in the family and not a single problem .. where as i know someone that like mercs and has had nothing but problems ...

Currently i drive an E46 M Compact and i like it ...

And secondly parts for BMW are not as expensive as people perceives .. i know someone that worked for bmw and he has done comparisons on some parts for nissans, toyotas, hondas and actually some parts are way more expensive than BMW parts ...

didnt you just say your BMW has done 42 000kms? that would be a pitiful $&#$% joke if you had issues with it at such low kms.

my choice would be BMW.
and please dont put chrome anything on it..

i would go for lowering it on tasty new school larger factory BMW wheels, tints, and some badass ICE 8)
