How Do You PROPERLY Install Strut Braces?

Are you supposed to jack up the car and fit it then? Or just fit it while the car is on the ground?

if its a straight bolt on then bolt it on,
if it is adjustable bolt it on and adjust the tension,
adjust it to suit what you want to achieve from it, tighter handling etc
