hmmm... HELP. Car troubles

Postby HELBND » Thu Jul 21, 2005 8:31 am

Ok, as some will know, i had some car troubles last night. What I want to know is if anyone can tell me why for certain.. I will be driving along, when a dirty great big squealing soun comes from the right hand side, under the bonnet (the side with the belts on it). The car will then die. Attempts to restart it, if successful, will get about 30 seconds of running if your luck, and then it will just idle rougher and rougher, and then that squeal again, and then its dead. Attempting to start, it is very reluctant, not really wanting to turn over at all, like when flat, but its not.

So... Anyone? Whats wrong with my car?

or your alternator belt might not be tight enough, or worn out... hence the squeal

To make the car stall its either putting a stupidly huge load on the engine (something seized) or the timeing is out. I dont know how you got the belt was loose from that.

I was the one who suggested a bung alternator bearing, could explain the sudden squeeling etc. Maybe take the alt belt off and give the alternator a jiggle to see if its all sweet. We tried to roll start it but it didnt want to play.
It is a myth that emos are contagious, and you may be infected. However, it is still widely accepted to wash your hands after physical contact
